Motivate, Initiate, Delegate: The Three Moves That Get You to Your Dreams
2026-02-18 · 10 min
Motivate... Initiate... Delegate! It is the tagline of Office of the Day, and it is also a three-step playbook for going after your dreams. Each word is a move. Together they keep you moving forward without burning out. Here is how to use them.
Motivate: Get Your Mind Right
Before you do anything, you have to get your mind right. Motivation is not about feeling hyped 24/7. It is about clarity: knowing why you are doing this and what you are moving toward. Start the day with intention. Gratitude. One clear priority. Listen to something that reminds you of your why, a podcast, a quote, a few minutes of silence.
When your mind is set on what you want and why it matters, you show up differently. You are not reacting to the day, you are leading it. So Motivate means: fuel your mind before you fuel your actions.
Initiate: Take the First Step
Initiate means start. Do not wait for perfect conditions. Do not wait for permission. Take the first step. Make the call. Send the email. Show up. So many dreams die in the gap between "I want to" and "I did." Initiate closes that gap.
The first step does not have to be huge. It just has to be real. One action today is worth more than a perfect plan someday. We say it on the show: If you can believe it, you can achieve it, but you have to initiate. Belief without action is just wishful thinking.
Delegate: Build the System
You cannot do everything yourself and expect to reach your dreams without burning out. Delegate means building the system: tools, people, habits. What can you automate? What can someone else do? What can you stop doing so you can focus on what only you can do?
Delegation is not laziness, it is leverage. The best leaders and entrepreneurs do not hog the work; they multiply it through others and through systems. So once you have motivated and initiated, ask: What can I delegate so I can go further?
Putting It Together
Every day: Motivate (mindset, clarity, gratitude). Initiate (one real step toward your dream). Delegate (systemize, automate, or hand off what does not need to be you). When you do all three, you are not just busy, you are building. That is how you get to your dreams.
Motivate... Initiate... Delegate! Get your mind right. Take the first step. Build the system. Then repeat.
