Tony Robbins boils peak performance down to three things: your state, which is how you feel and show up; your strategy, which is your plan and your skills; and your story, which is the meaning you hang on whatever happens to you. In his TED talk and in programs like Unleash the Power Within, he digs into how your state drives your decisions, and how you can shift it on purpose by changing your body and your focus. In sales, all three are in play on every call.

Your State Leaks Into Everything

Walk in scared or desperate and you will sound needy, and people can smell it. Walk in confident and locked in on helping, and you will sound like an advisor worth listening to. Robbins is big on shifting state through your physiology and your focus, and honestly that is half the battle before you ever open your mouth.

Strategy: Copy What Already Works

Find the people already getting the results you want and study how they do it. In sales that means watching your top closers, stealing their best questions, and drilling until it is automatic. Robbins credits his own mentor, Jim Rohn, for the idea that success leaves clues. Modeling someone ahead of you is just the fastest way to skip part of the learning curve.
